Trying to reinterpret, revise or update marx"s theoretical ideas. Purpose: give a better understanding of contemporary capitalist society. Hegelian and critical theory focusses on ideological issues: the inaccessibility of early neo-marxism. Result, the work of marx and most of the early marxist, was inaccessible to. Parts of marx"s writings were translated into english by the 1950"s. Some of the work of the early neo-marxists have been translated into english by the 1960"s: this helped fuel the growth of neo-marxism, the growth of neo-marxism in the 1960"s. Neo-marxism started to enjoy a lot of growth and popularity which continued on into later decades. As a result, neo-marxism enjoyed growing acceptance during the 1970s and the 1980s: analysis through later neo-marxism. Economic issues have been analyzed in later neo-marxism. The historical shift from competitive capitalism to monopoly capitalism was analyzed by some neo-marxists. Political issues have also been discussed and theorized: the role of the state in capitalist society.
