This history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles karl marx and friedrich engels, the communist. ^^this has marked the entire history of human civilization. The mode of production (mop) the overall system of economic activity in a society. Marx suggested there is a historical progression in modes of production/economic systems. We moved from slavery to feudalism to capitalism. Slavery: an economic system in which people are legally owned by others and engage in forced servitude. Mode of production during antiquity (long before the middle ages) in ancient athens and rome.
