Aggression is any behavior intended to harm another person that the target person wants to avoid. Physical violence and aggression are not the same thing, just because an act is aggressive does not mean it was intended to be in a violent way. Studies show that soldiers often did not fire when they were told to fire. The rate of killing with guns was smaller than one would expect. They show that soldiers were not hitting their targets, it fired 1 or 2 per minute. Even in intimate danger, most people do not have the aggression to kill people. For example, kitty genovese, she was stabbed and brought attention to people in the neighbourhood, so the person who did it fled. But not one came out of their houses and then the murderer returns and continues to stab her.
