Anybody who has been abused has the same fate. No breaking through barriers unless and until we do the hard work; then it can be overcome. Side effects of abuse: what we are left with (feelings, turmoil); lead to destruction of our mental situation, annihilates our personality, do not get to become the person we could"ve been; character assassination= child abuse. There are no degrees of child abuse; have the same components and same outcome. To compare ourselves to others is not doing ourselves any favors. 1/3 women and 1/5 men have been sexually abused (3 million women; in hamilton is. 30,000 women and 50,000 men); perpetrators are family members; 81% are known to the family/children; kids help phone: over 275000 calls from kids in first year; 4 year old boy called and asked how to commit suicide. 50% of violent offences against children are sexual assaults.
