Divorce has a big role to play in how the children are contextualized. A lot of canadians are declining in taking emotional risks in marriage. We see a lot of people choose to live by themselves and they may adopt or foster a child without a partner. Common law is a lot of large partnership in the canadian society. There is a cultural shift in how we define families. Current suggestions; mothers and fathers who choose to divorce must come before the judge and must tell the judge what their plan is to raise these children jointly. If they agree, the judge will decide for them.
