Socio-cultural theory: community impact, culture, politics, values, demand, and social need all impact rec programs, very important in any community. Symbolic interaction theory: people interact and gain meaning from others, programmers seek to understand participants behaviours. Phases of leisure experience: anticipation, participation, reflection, must expand programmers responsibility beyond participation phase.
