The acts that transpired in vancouver concerning the nutrition experiments conducted by european settles were of course gruesome in nature and should never have been tolerated. I can agree with laurie eggie and her annoyed attitude towards the harsh rules that they are required to obey. Regardless of this fact, however, these regulations are crucial to secure a safe project lead by, what laura stark wanted to be, trustworthy people. To breach this gap further, i believe complete transparency for researchers would go a long way in securing both trust and willingness from the irb and reb to approve of more projects.
