Sulla takes power through force, then go to war. Comes back in 83 bc, and kills off aristocrats who defy him. Publishing proscription lists of those he wants killed. Uses the proper legal system to try and fix the problems in the state as he sees them. He sees that the people have gained too much power, so he wants to limit the power of the people. Brought up by a patrician power, so he believes the elite should make the ultimate decisions. Still mad at the old tribune of the plebs he killed for supporting marius. Wants to make senate more powerful, so he doubles the size of the senate. Now there are twice as many seats for elite members.
