Readings: longer passages on philosophy, understand the basic concept. Roman philosophy i. e. on the nature of the gods, on divination, and on duty. Greek philosophy has major impact on the romans, in particular the flavours of greek philosophy. Types that influence are the ones that are influential in the hellenistic periods. Romans were coming in to contact with greek ideas all the time, so they become the most popular to the romans. Epicurus promoting his idea in late 4th century, but later is the best roman philosopher of this style. De rerum natura (on the nature of things) Published in six books, talks about how the universe was formed, how humans evolved from cavemen in civilized beings, try to explain everything about the universe and how humans fit into it. Is technically a poem with 7400 lines in 6 books.
