Document Summary
Most testing techniques fall into one of two large categories. The term came into being to differentiate it from black-box testing, but is also commonly referred to as clear box testing, glass box testing, etc (as the box is transparent). Other terms include structural testing and code-based testing. This type of testing is done with full knowledge of the code being tested and how it was written, so it"s the type done by the code developers or anyone allowed to examine the code. In designing this type of test, or a series of tests, the tester targets certain code sections with input that the code is intented to handle as well as with purposefully flawed code. Testing determines if correct output is produced and if the response in the second is satisfactory. A success means both cases are handled in a manner that accords with the program"s specification.
