Gross domestic product- gdp: a measure of total production of goods and services in a country. Gdp per capita is a measurement of this total, divided by the total population of the country. Gross national product- gnp : total production of goods and services by all citizens of a country. Gross national income- gni: a variation of gnp which removes indirect taxes. This measurement is used by the world bank. Gini coefficient: a statistical measurement designed to represent the income or wealth distribution of a nation"s residents. It is the most commonly used measure of inequality. Empire: a group of states or countries under a single supreme authority. Imperialism: political and economic system involving powerful, wealthy states gaining control of the economic, social and political life of other weaker nations.
