In the previous module, the concept of tort law or tort liability was introduced as 1 of the 2 pillars of civil liability or perhaps civil regulation of business. The other is contract law, which we"ll be discussing in this module. They are the primary pieces of law that underlie all the regulation of business we have in this country. Remember that we don"t rely on criminal law, we rely on our civil law concepts, and tort law and contract law are by far the most important aspects of that.
