Document Summary

Cells of the immune system found in primary and secondary lymph follicles of the b cell areas of the lymphoid tissue. Dendritic cells have an ability to activate t- cells. Tregs inhibit dendritic cell activation; this reduces their migration and interaction with other immune cells. Extravasation: a discharge/ escape, as of blood, from a vessel into the tissues. T cells kill infected cells or help the immune response known as cytotoxic t cells and helper. Nk t cells have both nk and t cell properties. Hematopoiesis: so from the hematopoietic stem cell- we have myeloid progenitor and lymphoid progenitor. T cell progenitor: th helper cell, tc cytotoxic cell. The lymphatic system: all cells and fluid in the lymph return to blood sys via thoracic duct. Primary lymphoid organs include: bone marrow + thymus. Secondary lymphoid organs and tissues include: lymph nodes and the spleen. Spleen: filters blood and traps blood-borne antigen. Galt: gut-associated lymphoid tissue: includes tonsils, adenoids, and appendix.
