Case of s : luria (1968) described s , s perfectly recalled all types of info in any order, had no capacity or duration limit, could recall things but not explain why. The case of clive wearing: losing the ability to form new memories, amnesia, had mild stroke, was unable to create memories, memories previous to the accident were not disrupted. Journal shows the feeling of being conscious just in the moment. Modal model of memory: different types of memory: sensory, stm, ltm, processing the information as it is flowing through. Other ways to consider memory: memory for something decreases with time, working memory- what you are thinking about at that exact moment, some argue working memory=attention, overlap between capacity of attention and capacity of working memory. Modal model: not a literal representation, a way of separating the different processes at different times. Sensory memory: every sense has its own memory system.
