Once people are caught breaking the law they are labelled, and their subsequent deviance. Secondary deviance: subsequent deviance -> increases the likelihood of them engaging in deviance. Still want them in our society, but tell them what they did was wrong: high degree of intensity between the parties, high degree of interaction- going to tell you how dissatisfied. People who are marginal, are more likely to be labelled. Does actual deviance matter in this: high vs low marginality, will be labelled, traditional perspective. What (cid:373)atters is the perso(cid:374)s" (cid:373)argi(cid:374)ality= does(cid:374)"t (cid:373)atter if they e(cid:374)gage or do(cid:374)"t e(cid:374)gage i(cid:374) the (cid:272)ri(cid:373)e. What is it really like: actual deviance does matter, as well as your marginality. So(cid:373)e people you do thi(cid:374)gs/feel (cid:271)ad (cid:448)s others do(cid:374)"t feel (cid:271)ad: people are going to make certain choices, depending on certain things.
