Put restriction"s on you for probation and people argue it"s the same in jail. Diversionary measures before your case goes to court. Could be screened out by crown, but front end of more minor offending. Tend to be minor type of offenders. Term of probation you have conditions and restrictions but you cant be confined to your house where you cant leave. On probation if you violate a condition you receive a sentence for failing to comply which could be another probation or jail. Where as conditional sentence of imprisonment if you violate your conditions they just put you back in prison (before custody) conditional sentence of imprisonment is a diversion from having to go to prison. If you break the custody barrier you go into custody.
