Document Summary

Rationality comes with the realization of the cycles of nature. The pattern of the sun, the seasons, etc, and how we fit into this cycle of nature. This is called the sense of cosmic order. with the realization of these cycles of nature, around the time of ancient mesopotamia, many tribes stopped being nomadic and began settling down. With these, there grew agricultural societies, also with the ability to domesticate animals. After a time, writing began, along with mathematics, and a desire to understand the cycle of nature around them. With this there rises the religious and spiritual association to animals, as they begin to revere their animals. It seems logical that myths would begin, because as people begin to settle in their world, they begin to question it. The greek creation myth forges the world from chaos, which brings a question of science (similar to big bang).
