Goal: make money, increase value of shares in the company. Ad sales on stations that the network owns and operates. No payments on local stations for use of programming. Can actually be the inverse, or use programming for free. Local affiliates can run ads during network time. Locals can use network brand for advertising. Cbs gains money from local ads on their o and os, national ads. Loses money for production, distribution to affiliates. Tv network supports radio and tv sales. Starts network with 3 east coast stations. So far, have strongest signals and most affiliates.
