Document Summary
Pollution is contamination that results in or can result in adverse biological effects to resident communities. All pollutants are contaminants, but not all contaminants are pollutants: pollution: air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution. We cannot replenish it but: a river is a resource, when the water is gone, it is replenished through rain so a resource is a source which is replenished, which will be repeated, fixed. Growing population means that the earth would not be able to feed/provide water etc for everyone. We need technology to provide fresh water for the consumption of a larger/growing population. 36. 7 - almost 37 million: world population should reach about 9 billion by 2050. And resources are limited : limited fresh water for ex. Hence we need technology to change/treat wastewater into drinking water - we can use technology to provide water to underprivileged countries.
