Power in leadership: is the ability to get someone else to do something you want done or to make things happen the way you want. Power is used for the good of the group or organizaion: posiion power: Reward power: the capability to ofer something of value, a posiive outcome, as a means of inluencing the behaviour. Coercive power: the capability to punish or withhold posiive outcomes as a means of inluencing. Legiimate power: the right by virtue of one"s organizaional posiive or status to exercise control: personal power: Personal qualiies that a person brings to the leadership situaion. Referent power: people admire you and want you idenify posiively with you. Visionary leadership describes a leader who brings to the situaion a clear and compelling sense of the future as well as an understanding in the acion needed to do. Commitment to serving others, to helping people use their talents to full potenial. Working together for organizaions that beneit society.
