ITM 410 Lecture Notes - Lecture 4: Tim Hortons, Product Lifecycle, Connecticut Route 15
Document Summary
Its important to know how much raw materials you have to make the products. Throughput - how many units they can put out in one day. How many pizza orders they can accept per hour, how many calls in an hour. Discrete process- theres a start and an end. Continuous - no start or end (water purification, oil refinery) Used alot in process improvement, cuz u wanna measure how many units ur doing in a certain amount of time. Ex- how many words u can type per min. How many mcdicks drive thru orders they can take in one hour. How many iphines you can make in one hour. If youre effiecent you are gonna make more phones, or take more orders etc. You wanna know how long it takes to make the product. Cycle is when you start making it or process. Lead is when it actually starts or when its finished.
