The food and alcohol sector includes: restaurants, bars, taverns, pubs. Operators in this sector owe a duty of care to the public in the manufacture preparation, and service of food and alcohol. This act prescribes minimum standards for advertising, manufacture, labelling, packaging, treating, processing, preserving, preparing or selling food, drugs, cosmetics and therapeutic devices. Section 3: no one can advertise any food, drug, cosmetic or device as a treatment, preventative or cure for certain prescribed diseases or conditions; [s. 3] Section 4: no one can sell food that, contains any poisonous or harmful substance. Is unfit for human consumption: consists any filthy, putrid, disgusting, rotten, decomposed or diseased animal or vegetable substance. Is adulterated (contaminated or made worse: was manufactured, prepared, preserved, packaged or stored under unsanitary conditions. Section 7: no person shall manufacture, prepare, preserve, package or store for sale any food under unsanitary conditions.
