Genres are everywhere, all media and stories, music . Has a set of rules needed to follow. Specific subject/ style the categories it fit in that does not necessarily follow a narrative. A set of conventions and formulas that help organize and classify films according to repeated subject matter, iconography and visual style and narrative trajectories. It not just fits into certain genres and mixes then but it also grows them. To create categories for judging or evaluating work. Hollywood studios systems promoted genres, certain companies were able to focus on certain genres they could take he same movie and just pump it out again and again. They have the production, marketing and distribution. It turned into a monopoly and the govt said that it had to change which ended these genre specific films.
