Emotional abuse: uses words/actions to control/frighten a child and their sense of worth through humiliation, criticism, harm, deprivation, scolding and threatening. Abuse is a misuse of power and a violation of trust and regarding a child, the abuse may be built off of the position of dependence that the child is in. Elder abuse and neglect defined form of ipv that continue into adulthood as they become more vulnerable with age, with their weaknesses often being exploited; women also suffer from elder abuse to a greater extent than men do. It involves the abuse of seniors as including mistreatment or violence or even neglect from a spouse, adult child, family members, caregiver, service providers and other individuals in a position of power/trust.
