What is creativity // living in creative cities. Coinciding with a growing number of cities in the developing world becoming industrial cities. These factors fitting together makes people feel at home in urban environments: accessibility- areas devoted to movement, connectedness within the system as well. Alternative routes: variety- the city centres offer broad ranges of experience and opportunities (intensity and variety are two biggest). In a diverse community, there are many needs and cultural meanings of spaces that differ: animation- human activity. On large scale, animation of cities public spaces happens by itself, through people attracting people. In other locations or smaller scale, things like invitations may be necessary to attract people to places. It is important to focus on design and management: continuity and change- public environment should have located those in time as well as space. Important to focus on then, now, future: distinct characters- a range of urban environments supported by diverse activities.
