In 1946, both nations start becoming enemies: standard explanation: in 1944, there was a large meeting between the u. s and the. The plan was that the people of those countries should have the right to have free and democratic elections: these elections were held after ww2 was over. But in those elections, communists won those elections. The real problem was that those elections were fixed by the soviet union.
