Neglectful parenting secondary to parent and may not even notice child is falling behind, they do poorly and do not have social skills ass less interaction with parents, likely to develop substance abuse problems. Parenting plays huge role in who child becomes. Most common style nowadays is permissive changed overtime. Parenting styles typically match b/w mom and dad: more beneficial to parents, less differences means less conflict in marriage. Implications of increases permissiveness toilet training age increasing parents waiting for child to take charge of issue: child obesity, poorer oral health, more cavities not serious about brushing teeth feeling of entitlement especially as adolescents.
