A macro level theory which suggests, the way society is structured affects how we behave. It is an idea that attempts to explain all human behaviour; the way society is organized causes people to act the way that they do; outside forces cause individuals to act a particular way. Power and reward are the two driving theories: social structures are made to reinforce power and reward; power and reward are not evenly distributed; those who have access to them seek to retain it. There are a limited number of people who hold a high amount of wealth; people of this position fear that other people will try to take that away from them.
