Herman and chomsky"s a propaganda model attempts to provide an explanation for the conduct of various news media outlets which extensively function within an economy that is classified as capitalist. Using the propaganda model, the authors argue that media outlets of all form will frequently present news stories which position themselves with the interests of economic and political elites. Golding and philip elliot"s news values and news production examines the production and values of news comparatively to the manner in which it is exhibited to viewers. They go onto to break down these three sources into subcategories which are story values building on audience consideration and the references listed above. Some comparisons which can be assessed between the two contents consist of how both articles contend that media outlets extract less significant" news for one which favours their principles. The filters and subcategories are used to focus on specific contents in media.
