Organizations have to be able to adjust to demands. Causes students to only learn what"s needed on tests and not everything. Profs start focusing on what to teach for the test and not teaching everything. Cons: objectivity, mass production/consumption, not as efficient as possible, little worker autonomy. Happens when there"s too much formality: instruments or power. People take comfort in old: stability and complexity of structure. Change in one aspect can effect other aspects: organizational culture. Unspoken rules and regulations are in place. Can in some way be exertion of power (cid:1) (cid:1) Concerned with lines of social stratification are found in distribution of skill. More skills (adam smith: with increased productivity there"s more specialized jobs. Being a master over a single task instead of being average in multiple tasks.
