Historically family was seen as a place of security, love and nurturance, but family is the most dangerous place for women and children. What"s wrong with statistics on families: (10% of women report the abuse) This is an estimate of what is not reported, should be much lower. Women, children and elder don"t report family violence. Stats only revile what gets reported and particular forms of violence. Over reporting of working class and poor families. Every single little thing gets reported (bruises, starches etc. ) They are over reported because they live in neighbours of constant state, police, social workers and surveillance 24/7. If you live in a middle class neighbourhood, police only drive by only if they are asked to. Middle class and upper class families are omitted from these stats, do not get reported.
