Personal interventions: usually held at womens shelter. When women are abused so are the children. So you don"t face your abuser: that would be revictimizing. But shelters are not forever: counseling is very expensive if not provided by shelters. Family systems approach: keeping family as unit, having all members of family participate. This is abusive to the victim: its abusive. Reconstructed approach: separate counseling the victim and abuser, victim and non abusive parents receive counseling together. Mothers are expected to protect the children and when they fail the children hate the mother more. This stage is to mend the bond between the child and non abuser so the child don"t blame the parent for not protecting them. Usually this is the mother: family receive counseling together. Only on bases that abuser actually accepts and acknowledges responsibility for abuse. So stage 3 is never met (cid:1) (cid:1) Professions that require mandatory reporting: any job working with kids.
