Chapter 2: changing food systems from top to bottom. The right of food was established as a basic human right. Being able to choose what to eat, when you want, etc. The nutritional value of a food is the sum of all its individual nutrients, vitamins, and other components. Looking at the growth from the bottom up. Demonstrates how specific changes in food systems happen globally and historically. More complete and complex view of food systems. Global organization that works to end the injustice of poverty and inequality, with a focus on women"s rights. Pay workers a living wage and close the gap by increasing minimum wages towards living wages; with transparency on pay ratios; and protecting workers" rights to unionize and strike. Promoting equal inheritance and land rights for women. Improving data collection to assess how women and girls are affected by economic policy. Keep the influence of power elites in check.
