The control of larger social forces on how life is lived. The initiative and action taken by the individual to rule their own life. Bringing oneself out of poverty, challenging the justice system. How we construct meaning out of the world. A critical approach focuses on the sources, nature, and consequences of power relationships. Explains how political institutions, political environment, and economic system (predominately capitalism) influence each other. Understanding problems and the root, and how to address/solve the problem. Looks at problems through the lens of class relations. Asking a question and response will vary (qualitative) Seeks equality for all people along gender lines. Describe the new mechanisms and tactics of power focused on life (that is to say, individual bodies and populations), distinguishing such mechanisms from those that exert their influence within the legal and political sphere of sovereign power. Depends on who"s telling it and where they are (in class, ethnic, or gender relations)
