Afis & cfns: movements of movements, three examples of afi or cfn, organized around collective action frames, food security uncritical approach defined by hunger. Collaborative food networks in canada: the people"s food commission 1977-1980. Land of milk and money: provincial network organizations 1998. Provinces are co-sovereign jurisdictions: pan canadian food networks 2001-2005. National food assembly, food secure canada, cafs: the people"s food policy project 2008. Kitchen table talks w/ results launched on parliament. Un special rapporteur on the right to food. Challenges for cfn: selective interpretations not being political/critical enough, not adequately addressing social justice, overly focussed on consumer-based solutions, localism. Need for experimentation: quebec"s social economy, mondragon workers" co-operative in the basque, participatory budgeting in porto alegre, brazil. Alliances with other movements: labour, indigenous peoples, climate change, environment, health, education, transportation. Because food sovereignty: beyond sustainability and food security, sustainable development and economic growth brundtland.
