Early communicaion theorists had less interest in what was being communicated than in how the message was put together (encoded) sent (transmited), and then understood (decoded). This way of thinking about communicaion and informaion is really concerned with the disincion between process and content. To prove that someone received a message you can ask them to send it back, or you can ask them to send back evidence of the message (like sending back the number of words in the message). Eiciency, success, and idelity: monological one-way movement of informaion from an ideniiable sender to one or more receiver. Simple form of communicaion as it simply moves from the sender to the receiver. The monological acion model of communicaion is a linear model in which meaning is transferred through space from one agent to another by means of a communicaion medium such as speech or wriing.
