Essentially an 8-page essay of what we"ve looked at about how documentary has changed over time and the implications of that change. What did we talk about in class, films we watched, articles we read, etc. Cinema is always already animation of photographs/pixels. Documentary has a long history of using animation. Sequence of images can often be turned into movies with animation. Man with movie camera was film that educated viewer about animation of images: broke down what cinema was, stopped image and then went into editing booth, showed how cinema is made. Is about the real world (rather than wholly imagined) Is presented as a documentary by its producers and/or received as a documentary by audiences/festivals/critics. Nick park the zoo: wallace and gromit. Tape recorded people speaking, animated the figures and played the voice overtop. No one receives them as documentary, but there is documentary element in it.
