Cyber crime is easy
Cyber security is expensive so companies usually will not protect you
Most people will give away info and passwords willingly without even
knowing it
How to protect yourself: Protect personal accounts (most important in email,
second most important is social media); Use strong passwords (ex.
passphrases); Use two step verification;
Phishing and social engineering An attempt to acquire sensitive info
impersonating a trustworthy
Never click on links contained within an email; don’t open emails from
people you don’t know; don’t open attachments even from people you do
know
Shop safe online: always use secure sites; read the privacy policy; use
strong passwords; secure your security q’s; use prepaid credit cards;
scrutinize your credit card statements
