Tutorial 1: introduction and media and crime notes. Each tutorial will last 35-45 minutes, to be followed by a short maximum 10 minute- formal quiz. Except for the quiz, you are not required to finish the tutorial in the allotted time. Each tutorial is worth up to two points. 10 tutorials x 2 points = %20 of the overall grade for the course. One point is available for attendance and participation (you must go through the entire tutorial and complete all of the mini assignments and exercises in one sitting, and spent at least 35-45 minutes doing so) Must write formal quiz at the end of the tutorial, within the allotted 10 minute time period. Each quiz will consist of 5 multiple choice questions, or 5 true-false questions. Each question will be worth one-fifth of a point. Identify the originator of labelling theory, and explain the relevance of labelling theory to studies of the relationship between crime and the media.
