Alternative explanations: freudian theory, id, ego, superego, eros and thanatos, energy build-up, catharsis, defense mechanisms, philosophy and cognitive behavioural theory, perceptions, imbalance, dealing with difficult situations in a normal manner or dysfunctional manner. Criminalization of mentally disordered: putting mentally ill people on the street = making their actions criminal = going to jail when our cjs cant deal with mentally ill people.
