What is qlr (qualitaive research: naturalisic, interpreive approach. Meanings: (what things mean, what were the messages they are sending) . Focuses on close contact between / researcher & subject (paricipant) But they have to be meaningful to those people, that"s why we focus on individuals . No single recipe/process or a how-to manual that works for everyone. Qlr data: not numerical in nature. Incredibly detailed data focused on rich descripive nature : rich thick descripion, small samples, provides depth & detail. Direct quotaion, descripion of situaions, events, interacions &observed behaviours. Addiional features of qlr: in-depth, holisic understandings, involves open analysis. No variable eliminated at outset: grounded in process of relexivity. You are a product of everything you have experienced, of your upbringing, family, etc. those things will inluence how you see the world and how you see the data which you acquire : flexible research design. You may end up changing your research study as you go .
