Medicalization: bodily conditions treated through medical intervention. We live in a world, due to the increasing power of the medical system where we understand some body conditions as medical problems that need to be treated or cured through medical ways. Health science scholars, challenge medicalization of female bodies. Botox, cosmetic surgery, hair loss, antidepressants, reproduction and weight controls. Initially started out that the reproductive functions of the female bodies had the most interference child birth was extremely medicalized (general anesthetic prior to 1970s) Regulation tells us about sexuality/family and gender. How each society regulates sexuality and gender tell us how that society thinks about it. Every society touches/ regulates gender/family and gender: reproductive rights and justice. Reproductive rights generally refer to the idea of access the certain right to control fertility and your body- used for access to abortion clinics. Access to justice: eliminates inequality; create conditions for full and informed choice broader concept.
