Medicalization of bodies: medicalization: bodily conditions treated through medical intervention; think about the history and politics of the body in relation to the increased medicalization. Certain bodily conditions are understood as medical problems to be treated. Late 1800s, what is health and what is illness health: they"ve challenged the medicalization of the female body, beginning in the 1970"s and 1980"s. Mens and children bodies have increasingly become points or targets or subjects of medical intervention: power to de ne health and illness, female bodies male bodies children"s bodies . Ii reproduction and fertility: regulation tells us about sexuality/family/ gender. Regulation of sexuality and how society regulates body, regulate access to birth control tells us what our society believes towards family, sexual morality and gender: reproductive rights and justice, multi-issue campaigns (birth control; conditions; policies) Sex, birth control and abortion, they"re a ashpoint of politics for gender, sex and equalities.
