Question 1:

You accelerate a crate across the floor and wonder to yourself, "Hmmm, by Newton’s 3rd Law the crate

exerts the same force on you as you exert on the crate. If the crate pushes back on me with the same

force, how is it possible that I managed to get it to accelerate?”. Can you come up with an explanation?

Drawing some free body diagrams might help you to answer this question.
