We turn to other ppl to see what others are doing. If someone rushes in to help w/ something, other people will help. Person might not want to stop b/c it"s dangerous. Not wanting to stop b/c don"t want to intervene. If there is group of ppl & nobody helped & person needing help passed away, sadness shared w/ members of group. Intervention model - 5 decisions to make before helping. Best way to carry out course of action. Victim characteristics can be powerful in helping us make decision. You get to know people who live close to you as opposed to ppl further away. Predictive of whether/not you are going to get to know someone.
