Focus on the central arguments of lecture and reading materials; in readings look at the theoretical hypotheses, general idea of methods and results (do not need to know very specifics but understand the patterns) Know basic points or trends on the graphs but do not need to know exact numerical values. In class activity looking at what this could lead to: overproduction, business might cut labour force in half; people could work less hours; must look at the demand. Total emissions are increasing again after economic crisis in 2008. Emissions per person has also stayed relatively stable. We have become more efficient but still admitting about the same. In terms of consumption: if you think it is more efficient you might use it more; might use savings on other consumptions even if they are environmentally friendly. Ex: a guy has a hummer which he inherited.
