Persians began planning another invasion (darion i, died before the plan could be fulilled: let to xerxes, who spends years planning the next invasion. Mardonius was sailing his army to greece, his leet was then destroyed by storms: chalcidice (parts of greece that sicks out) was famous for storms. Xerxes carved a canal through the chalcidice so the troops wouldn"t have to go through the dangerous waters. Built a bridge across the hellespont to be able to march an army across it: 2 loaing bridges- took hundreds of ships. Two- 314: lined up and ied together with huge ropes, wooden planks were laid across them, covered with earth, some secions were removable so ships could sill travel through the straight.
