Expanded his territory greatly: beginning in 550 with the defeat of the king of the media/medes (potenially his grandpa) By his death he controls huge amount of territory: including levant. Succeeded by his son cambyses (ruled from 530-522: no issues/ revolts in the change over. Reign is described as calm and peaceful. Conquest of egypt: enlisted the help of the phoenicians, the persian army could atack from the mediterranean, sail up the nile.
