Megara decided it didn"t want to be in the delian league (445) Thebes became the leader of a boeoia league: ousted all the pro- athenian polis governments in its league. In 445 pleistoanax (one of the kings of sparta) invaded athens. Within a year athens lost majority of its inluence of the mainland.
