What do you mean gender is not biologically. Sex: those features, usually of anatomy, that a society or group assumes disinguish females from males. Gender: socially and culturally produced ideas about the diferences between females and males in a paricular society. At birth a shit in focus from sex to gender occurs. Conceptualizes gender as an accomplishment or achievement doing gender involves interacive percepion and performance. Shits focus from internal biological qualiies of the individual, to social relaionships and situaions external to them gender is both a personal experience and a social insituion. Gender serves as a means for organizing social life.
